healthEspace strives to ensure that its members’ personal information is stored as securely as possible. Information provided by site users is kept on servers locked in a safe location and protected by an electronic firewall. However, as with most Internet sites, no guarantees can be made by healthEspace or its affiliates in regards to personal information being kept wholly secure.
The healthEspace main site can be accessed and viewed without registration, however most features require site vistors to register. healthEspace will collect only the personal information supplied during the member registration process, subscription to e-newsletters and podcasts, and enrollment in our live webcasts.
Also, through the use of healthEspace, one may set up a personal profile which allows for the formation of relationships, the sending of messages, performance searches and queries, the formation of groups, the setting up of events, among a variety of additional services. This information is collected and stored in order to provide site users with personalized features. When users update site information, a backup copy of the prior version is kept for a reasonable period of time to enable reversion to the prior form of that information if desired.
healthEspace will not knowingly allow children under the age of 13 to register for use of the site. If healthEspace becomes aware that information has been collected from a child under 13, healthEspace and its affiliates will delete his or her information from its servers. Profile information submitted to the site can be accessed by other healthEspace members at any time; however you can monitor user access through your privacy settings. Your name and profile picture thumbnail will be available in search results across the healthEspace network and those limited pieces of information may be made available to third party search engines. Users who see your name in searches, however, will not be able to access your profile information unless your privacy settings allow them to do so.
healthEspace will not disclose any of your personal information to third party vendors. However, an exception exists if healthEspace is legally required to share information. Such circumstances as complying with laws, regulations, search warrants, and subpoenas or court orders, and any other extraordinary circumstances may require healthEspace to disclose information shared on the site. In addition, healthEspace may be required to share some of your membership information with our agents or other third parties who perform services such as webhosting or Web site development.
However, we will always implement reasonable contractual and technical protections which will specify the use of that information will only be available to such third part vendors for a limited time and only in connection with healthEspace activities. In the event that healthEspace is sold or comes under new ownership, your personal information may be transferred to maintain the serviceability of the site. healthEspace will notify all members prior to transferring data under this circumstance.
